‘Tis the season for making merry and enjoying holiday traditions new and old with family and friends. There is no shortage of great holiday events throughout St. Louis this year. Here are my top picks:
Skating at Steinberg
Extended holiday hours, November 22-25 and Dec 22th-Jan 6th, 10am-midnight.
Open Xmas Eve, Xmas Day, New Years Eve & New Years Day.
Steinberg Skating Rink is the largest outdoor ice skating rink in the Midwest, offering public skating all day, everyday—including all holidays. We are always open no matter what the temperature is. Your skate admission is valid for all day.
St. Louis’ favorite skating rink is open starting today and will be open for public skating every day (including holidays) through March 18, 2018. Steinberg is open from 10 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday.
Snowflake Cafe offers appetizers, sandwiches, snacks, burgers, soda, hot chocolate, beer and wine and is open during hours of operation. Steinberg Skating Rink offers a great atmosphere for a wonderful skating experience!

Anheuser Busch Brewery Holiday Lights
Enjoy the iconic lights that adorn the Anheuser-Busch Brewery close up during walking tours (that are stroller-friendly).
There will also be live music, s’mores stations, an ice rink, ice sculptures, photo opportunities with the Bud Light Snowman, food stations in the biergarten, and beer samples for those over 21. The walking tours are free, but there are fees for the s’mores station, holiday cheer packages and to reserve your own fire pit.
5-10 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Dec. 30. Walking tours are not available on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day but the lights will be on every night.

Garden Glow
The Missouri Botanical Garden lights up the holiday season for the fourth annual Garden Glow. More than a half million lights will illuminate some of the Garden’s most iconic locations, walkways will be transformed into sensory light tunnels providing an explosion of visual magic, and traditional candlelight village displays will delight crowds of all ages.
Wishing Trees, Snow Balls, and “Glowmen” will all light the night sky, and provide interactive fun for guests of all ages. Your family will love exploring the glowing snowman garden, magical light tunnels, interactive photo opportunities and traditional holiday music.
In addition to all the beautiful lights, Garden Glow 2017 offers singing, dancing, shopping and dining for the entire family.
The Garden Glow is open nightly from 5-10 p.m. through January 1, 2018. Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Tickets also include admission to the Gardenland Express Holiday Flower and Train Show.
Visit on Family Nights on Wednesdays (Nov. 22, 29 and Dec. 6 & 13) for special $3 kids’ admission (ages 3-12).
The cost to attend Garden Glow ranges from $6 to $18 per person, depending on age, date of attendance, and membership status. Tickets are date-specific and sold in limited quantities, so purchasing in advance is recommended.

Winter Wonderland
Experience the holiday lights in Tilles Park, where you’ll find thousands of beautiful holiday lights and animated displays designed by St. Louis County Parks employees.
The exhibit, which has become a St. Louis tradition, is open nightly through Dec. 30. Closed Christmas Eve. No reservations are needed and admission is paid as vehicles exit the park (cash only).
Winter Wonderland is open for vehicular traffic and carriage rides Sundays through Fridays from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.Saturdays are closed to vehicular traffic and open for carriage rides only.

Recycle your Christmas lights that don’t work. Bring your old or non-working Christmas lights when you come to Tilles Park and the county Parks Department will recycle them for you.
Admission is $10 per family vehicle; $20 per limousine; $40 for commercial transport vans and $90 per tour bus. Cash only.
Tilles Park is located at 9551 Litzinger Road. All vehicular traffic to Winter Wonderland must enter from south bound McKnight Road.
