He gave us honest feedback on our home, negotiations and inspections. He went above and beyond when trying to help get us in a new house when ours sold so much faster than we expected. Always made time for us and made sure to talk out any concerns we had throughout the entire process of selling our house and buying a new one.

I most recently accompanied my boyfriend, a UK native, on his experience as a first time homebuyer here in Saint Louis. Initially we scoured the Internet and after spotting an open house of interest, we saw the property and fell, albeit naively, in love with the house. Upon receiving some advice from my stepfather who is a multiple homebuyer, we decided to contact a realtor to not only get an educated opinion of the home, but to eventually guide us through the very new to us process of securing it’s purchase.
To my great fortune, I read a series of positive reviews on a realtor in our area by the name of Dan Brassil. Employing him as our realtor was the best decision we could have made as first time homebuyers. Dan could have easily sold us on the first home we fell in love with & made his cut of the sale in quick order. Instead, he gave us an excellent unbiased and educated opinion of the home, pointing out both its strengths and weaknesses. Importantly, he noted that the original wood siding on the home had many layers of paint and due to its deteriorating condition, would likely need to be replaced before we turned around to sell the home in 4 years time. He would have been happy to help us place an offer if that was what we truly wanted, but he wouldn’t let us make that decision without giving us a reality check on the resale potential of the home.
After deciding against the purchase of the initial home we looked at, Dan astutely guided us through the search for other properties to consider. He setup an online portal for us that he tailored to what we specifically wanted in a home (# of rooms, price range, neighborhood, etc). He was always quick to reply on any questions/concerns we had on homes of interest on the site & would go out of his way to quickly setup a viewing of a home we wanted to take a look at. Once we decided on the house we would eventually call home, he made the process of buying that house effortless. He succinctly outlined what we would need to get done to close on the house in a timely manner, making sure we knew what would be involved at each step. In addition, he offered excellent advice and spoke on our behalf when we needed to settle on terms with the sellers.
As my boyfriend signed the final paperwork & deed on the house at the title company, he was confident & secure in the purchase he was making. We owe that peace of my mind on closing day to Dan & we will not consider going to anyone else when it comes time to sell our home.

After 3 months of searching, we finally found our house. Dan happened to have a previous personal commitment (not a client) that night, but he gave up his night to arrange a last-minute showing and stayed late with us to draw up an offer.
After our offer was accepted, Dan and his team continued to help us navigate our way to the closing. He was instrumental in getting issues addressed that came up in the inspection and made us feel confident that we were making a sound investment.
We never doubted for a second that he always had our best interest at heart. He never pressured us or acted like a salesman, even when the market seemed hopeless. He was always quick to respond to text or email and even called to discuss our inspection response while he was on vacation! He made our home-buying process as painless as possible and we would absolutely recommend him without hesitation!

Let’s face it the market is tough right now. Dan was with us on journey to find our next new home for almost a year. It was a tricky sale and he made it happen where other deals on our new house fell through (tough for them but great for us!) His knowledge of the city and older homes was a huge help in carefully evaluating the condition of each home we entered. With his help we finally found our dream home, and got it at a price that left us room for much needed renovations. Fast forward a few months and we were ready to quickly sell the starter home we’d lived in for over a decade. Once again, Dan sprang into action, and helped us list and close the sale, above list price, in a matter of weeks. Dan never seemed to stop working even when he was on vacation! If I could somehow rate Dan higher than A, I would. From the very beginning he was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He did a great job of taking our wishlist and knowing which neighborhoods and houses might appeal to us. He was ALWAYS incredibly responsive and truly cared about making sure we made a good purchase.
After showing us several houses in one day and working with multiple other clients he went the extra mile to submit a late night offer so that our chances of acceptance were maximized. I was and am continually impressed with Dan’s dedication to his profession and his clients. I would recommend him to anyone looking to buy or sell a house. He was great to work with on a personal level and most importantly, thorough in everything we did. Because of Dan, we had no hesitations or questions when it came time to close. He even went above and beyond to ensure we closed on time. You could tell his effort was a reflection of his desire to genuinely help us and do well at a profession he’s obviously passionate about. He excelled at both. Again, I cannot recommend him highly enough.

I’m going to start off by saying, buying a house is the most stressful thing I’ve ever done. Thanks to Dan, it was also one of the best experiences of my life.
Pros: Dan is extremely knowledgeable about the amazing city/county. He is also very knowledgeable about the homes themselves. I know this, because my father in-law is a carpenter and was extremely impressed by Dan’s knowledge.
Dan was the most honest and straight forward person during the entire process. He even went as far as to break my wife’s heart by telling her we shouldn’t buy the house of her dreams (due to comps, etc), which turned out for the better since we ended up finding a much better home in a better area. Not only did Dan assist us in the home buying process, he’s also has kept in touch with us it make sure all is well by sending cards and even delivering a pumpkin for Halloween!
Conclusion: I would highly recommend Dan to anyone on the market for a home or to sell a home. Dan has already helped one of my friends and I’ll be making sure that rest of them visit Dan as well.

Dan is definitely THE person you want helping you with a home purchase. He’s absolutely the best to work with and I cannot recommend him more. I recently moved to St. Louis from California in December of 2016 with intent on buying a home. Being new to the area and never having purchased a home before, I had no idea where to start. Fortunately, I was steered in Dan’s direction from all the positive reviews on Yelp and boy am I super glad! What could have been a very stressful, daunting, and grueling process was in actuality very low stress, encouraging, and streamlined.
Dan was honest and looked out for my best interest.I truly felt like he listened to what I wanted in a home. He sent me listings to review that matched closely with my needs. If we saw homes in person that I thought I would love but he saw concerns with he voiced it right away and would recommend continuing the search instead of allowing me to pursue a house that wouldn’t be in my best interest even though that could have meant a quicker sale. I’m so grateful for that as I could’ve easily been steered in a direction that may have not been the best due to my limited knowledge/experience. As a buyer, you can wholeheartedly trust that Dan has your best interest at heart.
Furthermore, he’s VERY organized and works ridiculously hard to get you the house of your dreams. Dan communicated everything regarding the offer and contract in real time. He wasted no time in communicating important details to me regarding the purchase of my home which made the process much smoother and eased a lot of my anxiety. He was also available to answer any questions that I had in a more than timely matter. For example, Dan was able to get us under contract with my house because of just how amazingly on the ball he is with things. My house had multiple offers at the time so we had some stiff competition and little time to spare. He worked quickly and it’s thanks to his speed and efficiency that I managed to get the winning bid! Even after getting under contract, he continued to make the process a breeze with updated timelines and keeping me on track with all the steps all the way through closing.
I go could on and on about how wonderful he’s been in the whole process, but that’d pretty much turn into and essay and no body has time to read that. Just do yourself a favor and save yourself a headache. Contact Dan and get the house that you’ve been looking for!

Dan helped us find just the right home for my wife and I. We ran the gamut of what we thought we wanted, asking him to take us to fixer uppers that were more like tear-er downers, as well as some beyond the upper end of our budget. He really helped us narrow down the choices, and especially the location that we really wanted and was always there when we needed him.
He guided us through the process of 3 different offers and made sure that we weren’t over paying just because we really liked a place and were getting tired of looking. Patience paid off, as Dan helped guide us through the offer to close process and made it hassle-free.
I was impressed by his knowledge not only of areas and market values, but in eying the construction quality and pointing out potential trouble spots for things like drainage and basement cracks. This is our first house in the St. Louis area, being in Texas the last 9 years, we had no experience with foundation issues or with different neighborhoods in St. Louis. Dan is the best! We started the process of buying our house and we were not living in St. Louis yet. He accommodated us and met with us whenever it was convenient for us (we probably ruined many of his weekends, but he was happy to help). Throughout the whole process, he was on point, always had an answer or a solution to our concerns. It was funny because every solution he suggested, it usually ended with us saying: “yeap, let’s do that”. We always trusted he was looking out for us, and we are very happy we found him and that now we have our home sweet home in St. Louis!
