The St. Louis Association of Community Organizations (SLACO) is sponsoring the St. Louis Regional Neighborhoods Conference on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Harris-Stowe State University. Sponsored in collaboration with the University of Missouri – St. Louis, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and Harris-Stowe State University, the conference will bring together local community and neighborhood leaders to share information, address problems, and advance the region.
This year’s conference, Great Neighborhoods for a Greater Region features over 20 workshop sessions covering topics such as community gardening, after-school programs, housing, neighborhood organizing and more. Neighborhood Associations are encouraged to send two or more representatives so they can attend as many workshops as possible.
The afternoon plenary session will feature St. Louis Metropolitan Police Chief Dan Isom, along with a panel of neighborhood leaders, discussing crime prevention strategies and the Neighborhood Ownership Model.
Hi Dan Are you going to this conference? I would looooooove to!… It’s totally what I’m all about. But dang, how on earth can you hear everything when it’s all jammed into two sessions??? Karen
